Washington State University Libraries Planning Committee 17.Apr.1996 Meeting Summary Notes

Attending: Janet Chisman, Vicki Croft, Rhonda Gaylord, Mary Gilles (Co-Chair), Daryl Herbison, Lauren McNiece, Ingrid Mifflin, Barb Paulson, Janina Pupeliene (guest), Marilyn Von Seggern (Co-Chair), Kay Vyhnanek, Sharon Walbridge (Recorder), John Webb, Leslie Wykoff (via WHETS) and Christy Zlatos. Absent: Jill Palmer. Check-in Lauren McNiece reported that mediated contract negotiations between the University and the Union, representing WSU Libraries Bargaining Unit 5, have concluded. If ratified, the contract will cover classified staff employees in most non-supervisory library and media classifications. Several articles from the current issue of Library Administration & Management are being distributed. Meeting minutes Minutes of the April 10 meeting were approved as distributed. Town Meeting The Town Meeting in Pullman will be on Wednesday, April 24 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the Kamiak Room (Old Holland). MMS will videotape the meeting and send a copies to ICNE, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver Libraries. Draft Values, Mission and Vision Statements Draft copies of each were prepared for distribution to Libraries' employees prior to the Town Meeting. A graphic representation of the values will go out as well. Those who cannot attend will be invited to send comments or talk to members of the Planning Committee.
