Summary Notes

Attending: Janet Chisman, Vicki Croft, Rhonda Gaylord, Mary Gilles (Co-Chair), Daryl Herbison, Lauren McNiece, Ingrid Mifflin, Marilyn Von Seggern (Co-Chair), Kay Vyhnanek, Sharon Walbridge (Recorder), Leslie Wykoff (via WHETS), and Christy Zlatos.
Absent: Jill Palmer, Barbara Paulson and John Webb.

Check-in
The plan for Virtual WSU was distributed and will be discussed next week.
In regard to the Town Meeting, some staff noted that they did not come to the meeting because they were happy with the draft statements and saw no need to discuss them further.
Meeting minutes
Minutes of the April 24 meeting were approved as distributed.
Town Meeting
The Committee reviewed comments and suggestions made during the April 24 Town Meeting and made decisions regarding each as to whether and how to incorporate them into the three draft statements.
The drafts will be revised by Sharon Walbridge and Janet Chisman to reflect those decisions and new versions will be distributed to the Committee before next weeks' meeting. It was reiterated that the drafts will continue to be "works in progress".
ECLS Town Meeting
The Planning Committee teleconferenced via WHETS with staff from CALS (Spokane), Tri-Cities and Vancouver.
Library Users
After the ECLS session, the Planning Committee continued to discuss results of both Town Meetings, with emphasis on the question of reflecting more about users in the draft statements. There was agreement that a user survey would be a good idea, and that desire will be shared with Nancy Baker. Janet Chisman offered to search the literature for user surveys done by other land-grant university libraries.
