Your PIN is your Personal Identification Number. Think
of it as your Password for entry into various parts of the
system. Your Student ID number and your PIN function together to create a personal
Login that are unique to you alone. This personal Login may be used to
view your Patron Record, Request an Item from
Griffin or Cascade, or use Electronic Reserves
placed in the system by your professors. Your PIN can be any combination
of characters up to 30 characters in length. You may modify your PIN at any
time by clicking on the "Your Library Record/Renewals" button on the
main Griffin search screen and following the prompts.
You do NOT have a PIN automatically assigned to you when your Patron Record is entered
into the system, nor do we assign your PIN for you. YOU choose and create your own
PIN.
You will then be presented with a screen which will give you the opportunity to
create a new PIN
for yourself. Enter your PIN twice
and then remember it
for future access to the system.
If you get the message - INVALID PIN - when you click the submit button, you already have a PIN in the
system.
If you get the message - UNABLE TO LOCATE PATRON RECORD
- when you click the submit button, you
have most likely entered something wrong.
* The most common cause for a No Patron Record error message
is failure to add a leading zero to your WSU ID number.
